[Poem] fragments
2011-04-17 @ 11:04 p.m.
iwas a mirror
reflecting
the world.
the whole world.
every face every name every
thing i thought
was worth it, every
closing of an eye and every
breath.
i hung on a white wall in a
white room with
no
windows,
with
no doors.
i waited there and
people came
and
i watched them pass
like strangers,
and i learned their names,
and they
were strangers,
and i kept their names:
the names of strangers.
and one day i jumped
and i fell and
i watched as i, a stranger,
i watched as i
exploded, glass
fracturing,
and i watched:
the fragments sprayed like
splashing water, like
drops of holiness and like
glitter
and like pain.
i picked up the pieces of the stranger,
and
i
opened
my heart and
there i put them, the pieces of the
stranger,
the glitter,
the pain:
and sometimes the broken shards, the drops
of
water,
sometimes they still wound.
